Southern California Edison Company SCE is a public utility engaged in the business of power generation and supply. It generates energy from sources such as coal, nuclear and hydropower. Besides, it also generates power from renewable sources such as wind, solar, biomass and geothermal sources. SCE also distributes electricity that it purchases. The company distributes electricity through 70,000 circuit miles of overhead lines, 43,500 circuit miles of underground lines, 893 substations, 720 distribution substations, 1.46 million poles, and 715,600 transformers in California, Nevada and Arizona. SCE is a wholly owned subsidiary of Edison International.
